Raised in Izmir, Turkey, Raz Ulukaya better known by his childhood nickname JOJO BAKLAWA, given by his mother draws inspiration from his multicultural heritage. Born to a Turkish father and an Jewish mother, he creates electronic indie-pop that fuses ethnic instruments with alternative bedroom-inspired textures and raw, catchy synths. His sound pushes the boundaries of indie and electronic music while staying true to the diverse influences that shaped his upbringing.
